I am also a filmmaker and photographer. I work efficiently under deadlines and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I combine technical skills with creative storytelling to bring projects to life.

Who am I
I am Sofia Bilbao, a bilingual filmmaker and storyteller from Uruguay, fluent in both Spanish and English. I hold an academic background in Audiovisual Communication from Uruguay and studied Film and Media Studies with a minor in Theatre at the University of Kansas. I am currently pursuing an MFA in Immersive and Digital Media at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. I specialize in projection mapping and multi-projector design for live productions, creating immersive narratives that blend film, theater, and emerging media such as 4D cinema. My practice is supported by technical proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, QLab, and Isadora. My award-winning work explores themes of humanity, resilience, and connection through impactful visual storytelling.

Hailing from Uruguay, I am taking the next step in the quest for a successful career in the film industry. Ever since my dad used to create bedtime stories for me, I knew deep down inside that I wanted to be involved in the arts. I am a curious and hardworking film director, producer, screenwriter, and now an immersive storyteller, looking to hone my technical skills and develop my own style.
